How to Scan to Acrobat® in 3 easy steps!

Scanning directly to Adobe Acrobat® is a convenient feature. It saves you time and gives you the option to have a searchable PDF. Turning on that feature is simple, so let’s get started!

First of all, make sure you have Adobe Acrobat® installed.

Open ScanSnap Home software.

  • Select “Settings.”
  • Select “Applications”
  • Select “Add.” 

Now, you’re ready to fill out the Application Settings:

  1. Use the “Browse” button to navigate to wherever you’ve stored Acrobat®
  2. Type “Acrobat” for the display name
  3. Uncheck the JPEG box (because you’ll only be dealing with PDFs)
  4. Select OK then Close.

Acrobat® profile

If you’re working in Windows, follow the instructions. If you’re working on a Mac, skip ahead to the Mac instructions below.

FOR WINDOWS USERS:

Step 1: Click on the Scan button

Step 2: Click the icon for “Add New Profile” in the top right corner

Step 3: Now select a profile from the list on the left side of your screen

Whichever profile you pick, you can use it as template starting point. You’ll obviously want to change the profile name to Acrobat®and pick a new icon.

At the bottom of the screen, select “Send to Acrobat®” then “Add.”

FOR MAC USERS:

Step 1: Click on the Scan button

Step 2: Click the icon for “Add New Profile” in the top right corner

Step 3: Now select a profile from the list on the left side of your screen.

Whichever profile you pick, you can use it as template starting point. You’ll obviously want to change the profile name to Acrobat®and pick a new icon.

At the bottom of the screen, select “Send to Acrobat®” then “Add.”

Congrats, you did it!

Now, Acrobat® will appear in your scan window, and on the physical touch panel on your iX1500 scanner. From now on, you can simply tap the Acrobat® profile, start scanning and--wahla! Your scan will appear directly in Acrobat®.
